On this tour you will Explore the best of the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu in only 2 days. The Sacred Valley + Machu Picchu tour is one of the traveler’s favorite tours in Cusco. You will be able to visit Awanacancha (textile center and Alpaca farm), the Ancient tombs of Pisaq, the handicraft market, and Ollantaytambo town. From Ollantaytambo, you will take the train to Aguas Calientes town (Machu Picchu Pueblo) and spend the night in a 3-star hotel.
The second day is visiting the World Heritage Site of Machu Picchu. Explore the most important places, terraces, palaces, and temples. Later in the afternoon, you will take the Panoramic VISTADOME trains to return.
Personal Safety: All of our guides are certified in high mountain first aid training. They always carry a first aid kit on our treks (including pills for altitude sickness, diarrhea, vomiting, cuts, and cream for muscle aches). They also carry extra oxygen in cases of emergency.
We Provide: an oxygen tank & a first aid kit.
Satellite Phones: Our top priority will always be the safety of our clients and our team. While all our guides are prepared and trained to deal with most issues clients have on the mountain. Being a phone call away from any doctor, hospital, or friend helps everyone feel assured that they are safe.
Food During The Tour: The chefs of the restaurants where we will have lunch and dinner are devoutly trained and use fresh products to provide the best Peruvian food. We have vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options.
We Pick you up from hotel at 8 am and drive for 30 minutes with your exclusive transportation and tour guide to Awanacancha (textile center and Alpaca farm), where you will see Llamas, Alpacas, Vicuñas, and guanacos. Your Tour guide will explain to you the main difference between these famous South American Camelids, visit the textile center to learn the weaving process and how the locals get the natural colors, and you can shop as well.
It’s then another 30 minutes to Lookout Point of the Sacred Valley to take a spectacular view of the Andes, Urubamba River, and the Sacred Valley’s farming lands of the Incas. You will visit the Pisac Archaeological site, located on top of the Mountains with impressive stone walls, Agricultural terraces, irrigation systems, and the Inca Empire’s largest Cemetary. After exploring with amazing views, we will drive you to visit the Local handcraft Pisac Market, where artisans offer their ceramics, textiles, jewelry, Andean instruments, alpaca products, and souvenirs. Then go for 1 hour to Urubamba for Lunch in a Local Restaurant where you will have many Peruvian dishes, using fresh products from the area.
After lunch, you will visit Ollantaytambo, the Last Living Inca citadel, because the current city is built above the ancient Inca buildings. The locals used the same foundations and doorways as the Inca Buildings. They just made the second floor; even the water channels have run with water since Inca Times. Ollantaytambo also has an impressive archeological site with temples, terraces, and storehouses, and we can find the heaviest Inca monolithic transported from another mountain located 5 km away. After exploring the city, you will take the train to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo) and spend the night in a hotel.
Wake up early in your hotel, have breakfast, and you’ll take the first buses up to Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, you must show an original passport to enter the citadel at the checkpoint. You will explore the best of Machu Picchu in a guided tour for about 3 hours, visiting the most remarkable terraces, storehouses, temples, and palaces, and giving some free time to explore by yourself or take the extra hikes to Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain (Montaña). These additional hikes are optional and not included in the tour.
After exploring Machu Picchu, you’ll take the bus down to Aguas Calientes, have lunch (not included), and take the Vistadome Panoramic train. Back to Ollantaytambo and then our modern van back to Cusco. The arrival time is around 7.30 pm back to your hotel.
