Rainbow Mountain 1-Day Tour Itinerary: A Stunning Adventure in Peru

Early Start for a Crowd-Free Experience: We begin the Rainbow Mountain Tour early in the morning to ensure you're one of the first to reach the summit, allowing you to enjoy the beauty of the mountain without the usual crowds.
Comfortable Hotel Pickup: Your adventure begins with pickup from your hotel or hostel. If you're staying at an Airbnb, you can meet us at one of the many nearby hotels or hostels on our extensive list of options.
Experience the Magic of Rainbow Mountain: As one of the first to arrive at the top, you'll have ample time to admire the stunning views and vibrant colors of Vinicunca, the famous Rainbow Mountain.
Early Morning Pickup: Your tour begins with pickup from your hotel between 04:30 am and 05:00 am. We’ll head out towards the village of Kusipata, where you'll enjoy a delicious breakfast before continuing on the journey.
Journey to Phulawasipata: After breakfast, we’ll continue the 3-hour journey to Phulawasipata, the starting point of the hike. Along the way, we’ll travel the Cusco – Puno road, passing through these charming towns: Cusco – Cusipata – Paucarpata – Tintinco – Chilhuani – Phulawasipata.
Hike to Rainbow Mountain: Once we reach the starting point, we’ll prepare for the hike. Under the bright blue sky of the Andes, we will begin our 1.2 km (0.745 miles) trek to Rainbow Mountain, located at approximately 5200 meters above sea level.
As we ascend, you'll have the opportunity to admire the breathtaking landscapes of the high Andean puna, as well as herds of llamas and alpacas.
Admire the Stunning Views: Upon reaching the Rainbow Mountain viewpoint, you’ll be mesmerized by the magical colors of the mountain and the surrounding snow-capped peaks. Spend between 30 to 40 minutes at the top to take in the stunning views and snap some unforgettable photos.
Return to Phulawasipata: After appreciating this natural wonder, we’ll descend back to Phulawasipata where our bus will be waiting to take us back to Kusipata for a well-deserved lunch.
Return to Cusco: In the afternoon, we’ll board our transport and head back to Cusco, arriving around 4:30 pm. You’ll be dropped off at your hotel, where you can rest after an unforgettable day.

Acclimatize min. 2 days to the altitude of Cusco city before doing the walk. Thus, the symptoms of altitude sickness will be avoided.

They can do it from the age of 10 under the responsibility and supervision of their parents in the same way as adults, but it is preferred that it be done from the age of 16 since for this type of tours a good physical condition is required.
