South Valley Tour Itinerary – Cusco

🕗 Start Time: 8:30 am - 9:00 am

Our transfer will pick you up from your hotel and take you to the tour starting point at Plaza Regocijo. From there, we will embark on a 40-minute journey southwest of Cusco to begin this unique experience.

📍 First Stop: Tipón – Inca Hydraulic Engineering

Located 25 km from Cusco, Tipón is an impressive archaeological complex that is part of the Qhapaq Ñan (Inca Road System). Here, we will admire:
✔ Agricultural terraces and an advanced irrigation system.
✔ Stone-carved water channels that still function today.
✔ Royal enclosures and the Cruzmoqo viewpoint, offering spectacular views of Cusco.

📍 Second Stop: Pikillaqta – Pre-Inca City of the Wari Culture

At 30 km southwest of Cusco, we arrive at Pikillaqta, one of the best-preserved pre-Inca cities and an important center of the Wari culture. Here, we will explore:
✔ Tall and extensive walls, characteristic of Wari architecture.
✔ An archaeological site covering 50 hectares, showcasing the advanced urban planning of this civilization.
✔ A local museum, displaying fossil remains of the ancient Glyptodon, a prehistoric mammal.

📍 Third Stop: Andahuaylillas – The Sistine Chapel of America

At 36 km from Cusco, we reach Andahuaylillas, a key destination on the Andean Baroque Route. Here, we will visit:
✔ San Pedro Apóstol Church of Andahuaylillas, known as the Sistine Chapel of America for its stunning frescoes, intricate wood carvings, and colonial decorations.

🍞 Final Stop: Oropesa – The Home of Chuta Bread
