The indigenous wisdom of the Andes celebrates the interconnection of all things and considers that the act of sharing their ancestral knowledge in community and with visitors from different countries, we believe, are the keys to a balanced and healthy life. In the effort to revalue the ancestral knowledge, customs and traditions of its people, we strive to make Machupicchu Trekking Peru a positive force so that these ancestral knowledge and customs are not lost and continue to be transmitted from generation to generation. With the proceeds from your tours with us, plus the individual help and generosity of many amazing tourists who come and feel called to donate more; We have been able to carry out a wide variety of projects that help revalue ancestral knowledge, support people in situations of abandonment and take care of our Pachamama through reforestation with native plants.
This project is very important because local families are included in tourism who welcome our visitors, upon receiving them in their humble but warm homes there they will share with our visitors a local breakfast that will be prepared with the help of our cooks, then we will participate of the demonstration that our hosts demonstrate of their customs and culture inherited and transmitted from generation to generation. They will surely be memorable moments of cultural exchange and an opportunity to bring joy to families who will welcome us with open arms.
How can I participate in this project?
Don't worry, if you are going to trek with us to Machu Picchu, our first breakfast will be with a (local family) for which we strongly ask you to bring a gift or a present for the family, we will coordinate with you to bring the present to the family hostess.
This project is focused on supporting the study and acquisition of knowledge of our children, who live in rural areas, where the knowledge they are taught is limited due to the remoteness and difficult access to their communities. Machupicchu Trekking Peru hires the services of a teacher to teach them the English language and computers. They will also take school supplies such as notebooks, pencils, colors, eraser and marker.
It's simple, send us an email and we will organize a visit. You can visit in a single day.
You can bring school supplies and leave them at the Machupicchu Trekking Peru office and we can take them to the children on your behalf. Or you can make a donation to the PayPal account. And we will be present to them in their name.

We consider that reforestation is very important because in recent years many parts of our planet have experienced many forest fires, deforestation is also being suffered throughout the world, the Andes and especially the Cusco region has not been immune to this. big problem. Many people in the jungle in search of more farmland are burning forests, cutting down trees for industrial reasons, and every year we are left with less vegetation. In addition to this problem, exotic trees are being planted in many places that negatively impact the environment. Like eucalyptus, they deteriorate the surrounding soil and with their natural oils, create a dry environment prone to forest fires. Machupicchu Trekking Peru has a deep responsibility with our Pachamama (mother earth) and that is why with our Q'omer Pacha (Green Earth) project, reforestation actions have been taken and they are: Each group that goes out on the Salkantay Trek carries between 1 or 2 small plants of an endemic tree known as Queuña (Polilepys), the small tree will be carried by our muleteers to the camp, after lunch we will all meet at the top of our Salkantaypampa camp, after a small ceremony to plant the trees we brought. Machupicchu Trekking Peru takes advantage of the rainy season to donate 3,000 Polilepys trees to local communities so that they can plant them in their territories. And so we all contribute with a grain of sand to the sustainability of our planet.
We invite you to actively participate in the ceremony and planting of trees in the high parts of our first camp, they will be very special moments where all of us in a single spirit of gratitude to Mother Earth and the sacred mountains will plant the trees. Machupicchu Trekking Peru, at the beginning of the rainy season, allocates a budget for the purchase of 3,000 Polilepys trees, to be planted in peasant communities located in our region of Cusco. We are all called to take care of our home, which is our planet.
We invite you to be part of this project that will help preserve our planet and our existence. We accept all donations in cash or major credit/debit cards through our PayPal account.
Throughout the Andes, local people have the custom of brushing their teeth with only water. And that is not enough to have teeth in good health. That is why Machupicchu Trekking Peru hires a dentist to buy and donate oral cleaning kits for each child where our porters come from. By 2025, we hope to bring a team of dentists to provide dental services such as cleaning children's teeth, filling cavities, fixing teeth in poor condition, performing extractions and teaching how to use toothpaste and brushing.
We appreciate your contributions to make this project a reality that will benefit many children and adults with limited economic resources. We accept all donations in cash or major credit/debit cards through our PayPal account.
This is a date highly anticipated by children, especially by children who live in towns located between the mountains where there are no roads yet and car access is impossible, people can only get there on foot and on horses, they are towns that have historically been Forgotten by our government, Cusco receives more than a million tourists a year, which would make one think that Cusco is the richest region in Peru, but it is not. It is considered one of the poorest regions in Peru because the money collected from tourists is sent to the capital Lima. Machupicchu Trekking Peru will take your donations and a percentage of our income, converted into Santa Claus, chocolate, panettone and gifts. Thanks to you, many children will have a day of joy and gifts that will surely give them reasons to be happy and smiling.
This project of delivering special lunches to people on the street was born from the initiative of our manager Carlos Becerra. When he was a child, due to family problems, he spent a lot of time on the street, without food and without shelter, which is why the experience of that hard life It made our manager identify with people who are abandoned and destitute, being philanthropic to others is one of the greatest virtues of man, which is why every weekend we deliver a minimum amount of 20 lunches around the central market of Cusco.
Your donations are very important to continue with this noble cause and when you are in Cusco you can help us by buying lunches and then taking it to the Machupicchu Trekking Peru office, and then distributing it to people in need, who will surely be more than grateful. The greatest gratification you will receive will be lodged in the depths of your heart, our planet needs people who take care of the weak and support those who have less. You can make your financial donations through our PayPal account.
