Tour To Uros

YOUR ITINERARY.

Our adventure begins with the pick up at your respective hotels (city center), main square or bus terminal between 8:30 am to 9:00 am. Then we will transfer you to the port of Puno where we will board a motor boat that will take us to the fascinating floating islands of the Uros. It is said that the Uros have inhabited these islands on the lake for hundreds of years, the inhabitant of the Uros learned how to harvest the abundant totora that exists and gather them in large quantities and then join them with the root and thus form small islands as platforms, these ancient people who despite the time and the cold today continue to live on these artificial totora islands, are known as the children of the mama cocha (mother lake), they daily maintain their islands, adding new layers of "Totora" (lake plant). Their houses, boats, viewpoints, etc. are made of that same plant. During our visit we will be able to explore the island and its typical houses, souvenir shops and we can even take a ride on one of its totora boats (raft) for an additional cost. After our visit we will return to Puno.
